All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

It's Time for Action
The world need to come together to make a difference and we need to act fast. As one world, everyone need to come together because no big changes will happen individually. There are people all over the world changing their routine to limit their impact on climate change, but we won't be able to make our efforts count until everyone contributes. Also, scientist are pushing world leaders to make a global climate change agreement.
I agree with you. Humans can make simple changes that can reduce the amount of carbon in our atmosphere and help with climate change. I came up with a few ways we can help. First, carpool are a great solution for reducing the amount of carbon because you are only using one car instead of two. Also, shortening your time in the shower and limiting the use of water in your everyday life can help to save our limited amount of water. Lastly, I noticed that keeping the lights on for long periods of times increased my carbon footprint. By simply turning off the lights when we leave the room, can help limit the amount of carbon in our environment.
I completely agree with you, we all need to work together to improve our environment. If we work together one step at a time we can make a big impact on our world. We all need to watch out for the amount of extra carbon dioxide we are polluting our environment with. It is very easy to limit a large amount of carbon dioxide we use daily. For instance, we can decrease the amount of driving or limit the use of cars that often use excessive carbon.
I totally agree that as a society we need to unite to make the changes that we want to see in our world. We should all have the same goal to reduce our carbon footprints as a community to benefit our environment. There are many things that we can individually do, like take shorter showers, grow our own food, recycle, or thrift shop. For example, from my own experience, I have practice every day in downtown Oakland but I carpool with 5 of my soccer teammates. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, "Greenhouse gas emissions from transportation primarily come from burning fossil fuel for our cars, trucks, ships, trains, and planes. Over 90 percent of the fuel used for transportation is petroleum based, which includes gasoline and diesel.3." This shows the negative impact that our transportation use has on our environment. I will continue to do my part to benefit the environment by carpooling. However, I feel that we have to come together and unite all of our efforts to have an even greater impact on reducing our carbon footprints. We are the genera tion that can save our planet and we need to act fast.
