Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Transportation

The one thing that overfilled my carbon footprint was transportation. This is mainly because of the number of flights I take in one year. It's crazy! I could certainly improve my carbon footprint if I reduce my vacations to two or three a year. I could also start carpooling more with other people because then there would be less cars on the road. I can also take a public transportation service every once in awhile, too. Remember, every little bit counts.

I agree with you. My carbon footprint was also increased a great deal by transportation because I took 8 flights this year. Limiting ourselves is better for the ecosystem. It also helps if we carpool places, bike to school or work, or just limit transportation in general. Public transportation, like busses, also helps.
