All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

How we can change
I have seen a lot of pollution lately. Especially on the sides of streets and high ways. When not properly disposed of, garbage releases a lot of carbon dioxide, raising out carbon footprints. We can stop this large release of greenhouse gas by not only stopping littering but also by creating biodegradable packaging for material objects. For example, if someone were to order a mug from Amazon, instead of receiving their package wrapped in plastic, the mug would be wrapped in polyurethane, a soft, biodegradable material. Something we can do as individuals are to 1) not litter and to 2) clean up litter 3) demand corporations to lower their use in plastic. You can get in touch with big corporations here: https://engage.us.greenpeace.org/online … 1525049242.
I definitely agree with your idea of getting rid of plastic packaging, it would greatly reduced the amount of CO2 produced from the factories manufacturing the plastic. Another way we can considerably reduce the impact of plastic on the environment is by getting rid of plastic straws. The small and insignificant straw is easily forgotten by people and is often littered, but the size of the straw makes it easier for marine animals to consume and poison themselves. Jenna Jambeck declares, "If you have the opportunity to make this choice and not to use a plastic straw, this can help keep this item off our beaches and raise awareness on plastic in the ocean", getting rid of plastic straws is a growing modern day campaign to help reduce the amount of plastic that goes into our ecosystems.
I agree with this as well because me myself have seen a lot of bad pollution for awhile now. Littering is not the way to go and it is only going to keep on hurting our environment. The plastic given for example from factories affect our world so much today as it releases terrible and harmful chemicals into soil and into the air. To stop this pollution and all this trouble we must make a change. Personally to stop this we need a lower amount of plastic bags given out by factories, and I believe plastic bags or boxes are the right way to go. They are more healthier for the environment as it has a big role in the conversation of the natural gas resource.
I agree with your idea of getting rid of plastic wrapping. This could reduce the amount of CO2 in our air. The plastic releases terrible chemicals into our air as well as the ground. A few ways we can stop this is by using a lower amount of plastic objects , such as straws, bags and bottles and to also use materials such as boxes. If we reduce the amount of plastic we use we can make a change.
