Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

my experience

Since I was in middle school, I always knew that the Climate Change was something that really happen. So I always tried to do something to reduce  my footprint, for example I began to brush my teeth without leaving the water to flow, or I began to pick up all the rubbish that I have found on the floor. But I thought that what I was doing wasn't enough to save the planet. So, when I went to high-school I began to go to school by my electric bike  instead to go with my motorbike, because from my house to my school there isn't much kilometers (something like 3 or 4 km). I also began to grow my own vegetable garden, because I think that it is more good (tasting it) and more ecological, because it is really 0 km food.
I think that everybody can do something for the goodness of the planet, but the problem is that not everyone has the will to do something....

I totally feel you. I've kinda always done the same, climate change was always an important topic for me. I travel almost everywhere by walking or with public transport, I live in a house that consumes almost anything and so on, but I think the problem doesn't lay in us.
The important thing is to change mentalities: I know -or see- people that seem to pollute as if it was their purpose. I hope it isn't, but I think they should start making big and little changes in their lives so that we can all benefit from this. It is like the fact that the Nations that pollute the most (like U.S., China,...) keep doing so when little Nations (like Holland,  Switzerland,...) try to improve.
I just hope people don't realize it too late..!

I did the same as you did! When I was in middle-school I didn't really care about the environment, I thought that it wasn't something I could resolve, so I didn't do anything about it. Going on with my school years my teachers have a lot talked about climate change and how this is impacting our lives in a negative way more and more every day. Now I also try to do my best in trying not to waste stuff, but i find it difficult to try making a change when there are people around that don't care, for example my neighbour, that always puts plastic and organic in the garbage together. I'm truly convinced that if everyone did their part, even in a little way, for example like you do by not wasting water when brushing your teeth, our planet would not  be shouting "Mayday Maday" every day.
