All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!
Now It's Time for Action >
Now is the time to take action!
There are many things happening in our current world that we think are inevitable, or are impossible to stop or change. Problems from climate change, to saving our oceans all might sound like things that are to big to be controlled. But they're not! Now is the time to take action because we are the people that are going to shape this world in the future, so if we start taking action now, we can positively influence the Earth in the years to come. Whether it's as little as sorting out all of your trash in the correct bins, or forming a group to go pick up trash on local beaches, every action, whether it is a big or small action can help our environment. We have all heard statistics, and stories about how our world is not going look good in the future, so instead of saying okay and moving on, we all need to take action! One thing that I heard in a previous post about posting on social media about your contributions, and how your friends and family can help is a very smart thing to do. Nowadays, we are all on social media, and social media is a place where you can post thin gs and ideas out to the public for everyone to see. It is time to all come together to make a difference to save our environment and our world. We are the people that are going to determine how our world looks in the future for the generations to come, so now is the time to take action!
I agree. There are various techniques through which aims to an eco-city that can keep on growing in the long run. Sustainable or eco-cities can be pre-existing cities that feature management directed towards lots of things. Like reducing the inputs of energy, water, and food. As well as reducing the outputs of heat, water, and air pollution. This can be easy only by coming together with the community and figuring out what we can actually fix or change in order to keep our Earth a safe and healthy environment. There are many environmental and sustainability movement that has been an exercise in market transportation. The participation in the movement can be as narrow as an individual making a strong commitment and as broad as a multi-nation effort. San Franciso has been proven to be the leader in sustainability and clean energy because they have improved energy efficiency in buildings and have enhanced its transportation system.
Our society must be proactive rather than reactive like you said. By taking the time to understand what we can do on a local level to help improve world circumstances in the long run. If we can use the platform of social media to get others engaged and spread information about the issues at hand, society may feel more inclined to become part of the solution rather than the problem.
I agree. Too many people think that climate change was going to happen anyway. I think that it is important for everybody to make an effort to reduce their carbon footprint. Even if it is just a small thing, like reaching out to a teammate or peer that lives near them to carpool, if everybody is aware and joines in, these small things can make a big impact toward saving the world.
