What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

The carbon emission and food
The high protein food could make your carbon emission get higher, like the meat. In Taiwan, most of carbon emission for each person is mainly from eating meat. The average carbon emission of each person in Taiwan could produce 5.7 kg carbon. That means that every person here expend 432.5g meat per day. So if we have more vegetable, the carbon emission could be fewer.
Rachel M. (USA) In the US their are statistics that state we are one of other nations that suffer from obesity. I agree that it is important for us to put down the meat. If each person exchange their meat for another vegetable once or twice a week to reduce our carbon footprint worldwide we would have amazing results!
