Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

How our meals affect our world?

paulinazac

Hi my name is Paulina!!. Daily we need a meal to survive, and these meal have been three times by day. That represents a need to survive everyday, we have an advantage in our days, is too easy to find or buy something to eat. But how this easy way to have our meals affect our world?. To drink water we need a especial bottle to handle it, our vegetables came in special plastic bags, the meat came In a special plastic plate to conserve it, at all each meal to be carry and storage need something special. Imagine if we multiply each meal by each special package to make aware how much we affect our world. How much trash and carbon dioxide do we create?  It's time to recycle, rehuse , and reduce all these kind of packages, also we should buy local food instead of imported from other country, because to bring it in our country they use an airplane, boat or other transportation that produce pollution.
