Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Clean Water

IsabellaA

One of the most important and life-threatening problems with the world's hunger crisis lies in the inability to provide clean water to those who need it around the world. Recent statistics show that lack of water has killed more people than war. While many technologies are being developed that can help our water issue, it still isn't enough. It's not so much a shortage problem as it is a distribution problem. For example, Canada has plenty of excess water that it doesn't need, while places like the Middle East and North Africa suffer from perpetual shortages. Technological solutions to the world’s water problems must be implemented within systems that recognize and address these distribution problems.

About the problem of clean water in the world, i agree with you, some places like Canada have enough and clean water , and some places like Africa don't have clean water to drink, technological solutions and countries can help and contribute to help the places that have serious problems to have clean water to survive.
