What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

"Clean Your Plate" Campaign
In China there's a project called "Clean Your Plate" Campaign, the purpose of this campaign is to appeal people to eat up all the things in their plate or bowl. This doesn't mean that we should eat more, but means that we should order a suitable amount of food for ourselves, we shouldn't take or order too much food, because if we can't eat them all, we are going to waste it. The less food we waste, the more we will give to the poor, just remember that there are a lot of people are still hungry, so don't take too mach food, and finish up all of them in your plate.
I agree with this whole heartedly. I believe that we should be doing this all the time. I think this is great so that way we don't waste any food. The less we waste the more we can give to the less fortunate. There are still a bunch of people who are hungry and need food so we shouldn't waste it. The extra food we could give to these people are make sure they are taken care of. Sometimes we take food for granted, we need to learn that for people they don't have that luxury.
Rationalizing ourselves with food reaps so many financial and economic benefits. It's the same for transportation usage, recycling, and everything else that directly affects our carbon footprints- less, or just adequate amounts, is always better.
