What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Healthy food is good!
When I was calculating my Carbon footprints I noticed that one of the categories I did not go over for my regions average, was food. It is such a cool feeling to be able to walk into my own backyard and pick fresh, completely organic produce I believe that every person should plant their own backyard in one tree. The candidate not only reduces carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but we provide and organic products.
There are things we can do to limit this was. Nearly one third of food all over the world is wasted. In America as much as 40% of food is wasted every day! I think it is unrealistic to say that no one should waste their food because obviously food will go bad. This is significant because methane has 25 times the global warming impact of carbon dioxide. To add to that, fossil fuels are used to transport animals and to power the production of the feed.
