What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

The food we waste
After doing the footprint calculator I think most if not all of us throw away a lot a food a day because we don't eat it we make more than we going to eat. When theres kids and families in the world that don't have anything to eat for days maybe so it think if instead of wasting all that food we maybe can store the leftovers or just make as much as you know you going to eat instead of wasting so much food that another family with they had. So we need to stop wasting so much food.
I agree completely, Americans happen to be very wasteful when it comes to consumption of food and water. We take these valuable resources for granite because they are so widely available for us, and we are extremely fortunate that we have this easy going lifestyle. However, many countries around the world are far less fortunate, as we learned in the book "A long walk for water" many people have to go to great lengths to get resources we find extremely accessible. You can simply look in the trash cans at school, the amount of food wasted every day by people around the country is unprecedented, it is a real shame knowing all of that food could potentially save thousands of lives. According to (Endhunger.org) over 12% of all waist created by the US is food material, most of this ends up being disposed of in landfills or combusted in incinerators. The decomposition of food in landfills produces methane, a green house gas 21 times more powerful than Carbon Dioxide (Endhunger.org).
Our people don't do it ! We live in Belarus! Our prises too big... ( And we apreciate every slice.
