What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Nowadays we eat too much meat and this is not only a problem to excessive pollution but also to our health. I think everybody should take a moment and reflect on the consequences that excessive consumption of meat could lead. I think also that grow vegetables in the garden could be a good idea to decrease pollution and also to learn something!
some people do not have a yard for a garden. Is it just as bad to buy veggies at the store as meat?
Its not that we eat too much meat, its more like people see how popular meat is and spends more time growin a larger population of animals which puts more harmful gases into the air. Moreover, buying vegetables in a store is not as bad since you can still buy locally grown, especially in the cases of people without yard space for a garden. But in the cases of people with the space for such gardens, then I totally agree that it would be a cool experience and not use the CO2 getting the produce to the store and you going to the store and going back home.
Alongside this, meat take much more water to produce the same amount of calories than plants. They also take much more space, and have less uses. Meat can be eaten and a few products that we have replacements for are also made from animals. Plants have the capability to not only solve most of world hunger, but replace gasoline with bio fuel, which while not able to be used on cold days, is renewable.
If not having enough yard to grow vegetables was the case, you can always go to the store & buy them or even have some pots around the house growing them, making sure they are infront of windows so it can get enough sunlight.
I agree, but people might not show that they care about water and food and people that don't have as much as them. Many people only think about getting the new iPhone or new clothes instead of giving something to the people that have almost nothing.
