What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Garden
My parents grow vegetables and a sparse variety of fruits. I believe that growing a healthy garden instead of continuously buying canned food would improve the environment and the increasing production of these canned foods in factories.
I agree. Not only does reducing canned food production cut down on the gases released into atmosphere in factories, but it promotes healthier eating without chemicals or preservatives. Homegrown vegetables and fruits taste better, are better for the environment, more sustainable, and can be a simple project for struggling communities. It can provide a healthier option that financially struggling places can't always afford, and growing and sustaining a garden is a productive, unifying community activity.
Yes, I think gardens are a great idea! Not only does it save money on grocery shopping. I also agree that it has a positive influence on healthy living. It also gets people staying active because by having a garden, you have to make sure it has enough water and soil.
You don't even necessarily need an entire garden; growing just a few herbs, fruits, or vegetables could help.
I agree that gardening is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and produce your own food. Also, if you live in a house with a big enough yard, you can have your own chickens or another animal. That way, you can have chicken, eggs, and produce without leaving your property. It also allows you to make sure that your food is grown with a low impact on the Earth and the food does not need to be transported from far away in polluting boats and trucks.
Garden - great idea . Your fruits and vegetables are always fresh and are not subjected to chemical treatment.

How do you nourish your garden? Do you compost? Do you have any other natural, environmentally friendly methods to help maximize your yield and crop quality?
This is a really good idea because way less production and packaging happens if you grow your own stuff! Also it is probably healthier for humans to eat very fresh fruits and vegetables than packed up fruits that have been sitting around. But having less production would be great because that means less pollution.
