Hunger is a big problem of the world today. People in Africa, Haiti and Sudan f.x. are countries that suffer from hunger. It Is a very sad thing, because when we are eating our food other people suffer from hunger. I don’t think that we think a lot about that. We throw away our food when we are full. It´s a waste of food. We should be more thankful for our food that we get from our mother or fathers. Be thankful for that you can eat because people from other places are suffering from hunger.
I agree that most people are not thinking of the people around the world who are hungry, when they throw away their food. I think many people do not know how lucky we all are to have a lot of food. I usually finish all of my food, so I am not being wasteful. I feel guilty when I throw away a half eaten sandwich. In most cases, if I don't like something, I keep it and bring it home and let my mom eat it. Here is a good tip, if someone does not like their food, and are about to throw it away, remind them of all the people around the world who are hungry.

That is enough food to feed every person suffering from hunger more than two times. A good book that talks about these socio-environmental relationships is The Omnivore's Dilemma.
