What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Smaller portions=smaller footprint
Im the type of person who cant eat a whole meal when going out to eat. This leads to the dreaded question that your waiter/waitress asks you "would you like a box"? Before learning about my carbon footprint, I would have told the waiter/waitress that i was good. Looking back, I wasted perfectly good food multiple times because I was too full when I could've used it for other meals. When I eat out now i do one of three things, I get a smaller portioned meal (usually a kids meal) that i know i wont waste, I share a meal with a family member or friend, or I get a regular sized meal and take home leftovers to reduce the amount of food wasted!
