Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

We need to make a way to preserve any food so it is not wasted or we could make the perfect amount that we know will be eaten.

I completely agree with what you are saying.

In older civilizations, they were forced to make food storages surpluses to survive during the winter times. I'm sure in modern times we have something like this, but much for modernized. However, I think it's important that everything that is unused is either composted or recycled in order to preserve our ecosystem.

I agree but at the same time I disagree. I agree that we need to find a way to not to waste food but I don't think the amount of food will make a difference. If we have left over food we should compost it so it can be used for something else like compost for plants or even composted plates and napkins.

I agree, most of the time people make more food that they know they can eat and end up throwing it away.
