Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Don't waste food

Try to save food you have left over from meals instead of throwing out good food. You can eat the food the next day instead of wasting it.

Remember to save food in reusable plastic or metal containers that can be recycled.

I totally agree. You can even take the left overs for lunch the next day, if you want. I even do that sometimes if I'm not in the mood to eat the school lunch. smile

I feel like this comment is very educated and worth talking about. I agree with you, and doing this could help reduce the amount of waste we produce.

dont buy items in large amounts unless you know for a fact that you are going to finish it all soon. otherwise it will all go to waste

Benjamin_M

I agree if you have leftovers save them to reuse and eat later
