Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Wasting food

In my opinion eat whatever you want but don't throw away your leftovers. save them and eat them later as a snack or something so they don't go to waste.

What if you have small amounts of food or food that would go bad quickly?

christina_f

I agree that you shouldn't throw away leftovers but I would still watch what you eat. What are some foods that maybe you wouldn't be able to save for another meal?

Benjamin_M

If you do have small amounts save them and you could eat it as a side on your normal meal

I eat lunch at school canteen. But the problem is that sometimes portions are too big and I can't eat everything. I always felt guility, when I had to throw the leftovers away. So now I always ask the cookers to give me smaller portions.
