What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!
Food & Hunger >
waste food
Mostly now, in this age of difficulty I see how much food developed countries like USA,UK, Italy waste.
Half of the world's food ends in the garbage and this makes me nervous because I think how many people every day don't eat at all.
The causes of this are: bad habits of people, deals that invite people to buy more food then they need.
All the food we waste could be enough to feed all the population of the Sub- Saharan Africa.
This situation can be improved, for example we should cook once a day and eat the same meal for lunch end dinner, we can buy only the food we really need and give to poor people what we don't really need or use.
It's enough just a little to change things and if everyone will do something, the situation will improve in a short time.
I agree with you Sinai
I also agree with you <3
i agree with you federikken
I agree with you, Giusy:)
I never realized how much food we actually waste. It is a shame that the amount of food we throw away can feed a good amount of a continent.
I also agree with you. I am from Slovenia (country near Italy) and i think we throw away food as well. It is a shame. Me and my family never waste food. We eat it all, give it to our animals or composte. We have to do something to improve our lives and save our planet from garbage.
I agree. And in school canteen portion are too big. We throw a lot of food away because we can“t it so much food.
