What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Food & Hunger
I learned that I am very privileged to live where I do. I have access to clean food and water, which is not the reality for most people outside of the U.S, and even some places in the U.S. Even though there is enough food for everyone, corporations have privatized it which is taking away people basic right to eat healthy. This taught me that I should be much more grateful for my unrestricted access to healthy resources. A way to reduce the unbalance in food supply, I would make a policy that would make people only purchase or eat what they need. This would hopefully avoid producing excess food, which could reduce waste and make it easier for other parts of the world to obtain more food.
