What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

World Hunger
World hunger is one of the most well-known and worst issues facing our world today. One solution to this problem is to make everyone aware of how detrimental it can be to waste food. I think whenever we don’t finish our food or buy too much, we should give share it or give it away to someone in need. For example, if you come out of a restaurant with extra food you could give it to the next homeless person you see. I also think all schools, especially public schools, should provide an affordable breakfast or lunch so kids can be focused throughout the school day.
I agree that world hunger is a big problem today. People should be more aware that food takes a lot to grow and that we should try not wasting so much of it. Many people in the world are starving and are not as privileged as most people are. Things we can do is to not buy food that we are not going to eat, saving food that we don't eat, or give away the food that we don't eat. We could give it to someone who does not get to get the food that we get regularly like the homeless. I think that we should not buy a lot of food that we know we can't eat and throwing it away. Only buy the food you are going to eat.
I agree that world hunger is a major issue. However, I also believe it is an increasing problem because of the finances of the area. 795 million people – or one in nine people in the world – do not have enough to eat. 70 percent of the world’s poorest people live in rural areas and depend on agriculture and related activities for their livelihood. The area’s finances are directly related to the nutrient of the region so in order to solve the problem something has to be put into place to simulate revenue. www.thp.org/knowledge-center/know-your-world-facts-about-hunger-povert y/
I agree for world hunger is a major problem at kills many people on the daily. There are so many more 2nd and 3rd would countries that suffer from starvation that have massive populations of hunger and poverty, most over 50%. Even scarier, in America, one of the wealthiest countries in the entire world, still has much more poverty and starving people than it should. Daily I see multiple homeless people begging for food because they were left with nothing. This is a problem. Imagine if there are this many hungry people are in America, how many people are starving in the poorer countries.
I agree because a lot of people dont know what its like to starve every night. If we were to just donate food cans that sit in the back of our cabinet we would be able to feed a person and do a good deed.
