Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Plastic usage

mariaonnoy

the use of plastic has increased drastically since  the year 2000 and has that had a very negative effect on the environment. That is something that needs to be changed, one way to do so would be silent protesting where people who go to the shops bring their own containers, fill them up and leave the plastic behind (in the store) so then the store would be forced to recycle what you leave behind.

Protesting isn’t really a thing that would work in this particular situation. The best solution to this problem could be changing the composition of the bags. If they are made of recycled plastic that would help the fight against the plastic materials.

Glass is being replaced by plastics

I completely agree! If we can change the compisition of the everyday plastic bags, containers and bottles we put to use, we can still have products available for our use without them progressively harming our enviornment and species that live within it.

Recycling bins are too scattered. I know many who don’t recycle simply because the trash can is closer.
