What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!
Food & Hunger >
Limiting Intake of Meat
Through my footprint calculator, I learned that the amount of meat that I eat is not beneficial to the earth. If we all limit the amount of meat and food we eat there will probably be less hunger around the world. Because less of it is being eaten the government would then lower the prices and make it more accessible to people with less access.
This was similar to mine as I also had an amount of meat that was not beneficial to the earth. I agree with what you are saying as this could help those all over the world. We should take action on this by eating more sustainable foods.
