What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Eat Vegetarian
I love meat, I know it is difficult to compromise for some, but according to Scientific American’s slideshow on how meat contributes to global warming, the projected amount of beef that will be consumed in the United States in 2020 will be 15 million tons in CO2 equivalent to greenhouse gases, and U.S. beef production will be 210 million tons. These are insane numbers which can simply be cut down by going vegetarian. I think that even going just without beef could be a great start and lessen the carbon footprint of the world. Please, at least give it a try, Eat Vegetarian.
