Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

I already struggle with eating

quill333

I struggle with getting myself to eat most days simply because I forget to eat since I don't feel hungry anymore. During weekends I won't eat a thing till around eightish simply because it slipped my mind. The only reason I eat regularly on weekdays is because of school lunches.
I didn't know what my average calories were so I just clicked the don't know the option and when I finished food was my largest one at over 6,000 kg.
It made me feel really bad considering I barely eat as it is.
I'll try to eat more local foods when I can but I don't what to do?
More local foods and eating in season, as a result, would mean food wouldn't have to travel as far.
I definitely think food that would be wasted should be donated instead. So many people waste food a by throwing out perfectly good canned and other preserved goods because they just don't like it. We need to stop being so wasteful with our food.
