MY Family Footprint

Many students using our footprint calculator said that they could not pledge to reduce their home footprints because they were not making the decisions for the household. Here is your chance to design your own sustainable virtual household!

If you had your own home, what would you do to make it more energy efficient? Where would you get your electricity from? Where would your house be? Would you live near to your school or work or local transit options? Where would you get your food from?

How Does Your at Home Footprint Effect Climate Change

Topic 2
The topic that the world’s number one carbon footprint is under is electricity, which ties in with the home category. My home carbon footprint was 2,172, which is under the average person in the U.S. Many people in the United States don’t even know what a carbon footprint is, this is not good. If they don’t know what it is the more likely they are to not know how inefficient they are to the environment. The more people know about global warming and knowing their carbon footprint, the better off our world will be.
Something I can do to help improve my home carbon footprint is take shorter showers. I know that my home footprint isn’t what the average persons is, but there is always room for improvement. I usually take 45-1 hour long showers because it really does not feel like that long. Something I could do to help that is time myself, use my phone to set a timer to tell me when to get out. I think this will be very effective because I can actually know how long I am taking. Below is a link with the total number of people that know about global warming (climate  change.)
