Many students using our footprint calculator said that they could not pledge to reduce their home footprints because they were not making the decisions for the household. Here is your chance to design your own sustainable virtual household!
If you had your own home, what would you do to make it more energy efficient? Where would you get your electricity from? Where would your house be? Would you live near to your school or work or local transit options? Where would you get your food from?
MY Family Footprint >
I know personally that my family recieves a lot of mail, a lot of which are useless. The main kind of mail we receive are ads from buisnesses or magazines we didnt even subscribe to. This casues a lot of damage on our society because ofall he excess paper that is wasted. The extra paper isnt necessary and it is casuing major harm to our environment. With depleting forests, industrialization, and the transport of these papers, noting is good to be said about receiving them. I feel that if our family could start recycling more of the paper we got, we could impact or world immensely. With one step at a time, we could all take a stand against the unwanted paper and stop them for good, in turn saving a lot of trees, and reducing our families carbon footprints.
