Many students using our footprint calculator said that they could not pledge to reduce their home footprints because they were not making the decisions for the household. Here is your chance to design your own sustainable virtual household!
If you had your own home, what would you do to make it more energy efficient? Where would you get your electricity from? Where would your house be? Would you live near to your school or work or local transit options? Where would you get your food from?

Transportation & My Family Footprint
My family is very busy. There are four kids all playing different sports in different places. Sometimes my personal sports are up 5 hours away because I play in a travel league. We also go to visit my grandmother who lives about seven hours away maybe twice a year. We try to find ways to cut down on our transportation, by carpooling with friends as often as possible or riding the team bus to and from away games.
Hello Gracie!
I can relate to your busy family, because my family is just as busy! Also, like your family, we have four kids. We all go to different schools that are pretty far away, which makes it pretty hard to have a low Carbon Footprint in that area. Not to mention sports and other extra-curricular activities! Carpooling and going on the bus are great way cutting down your Carbon Footprint! I know that I carpool with at least 3 different people to go to and from school (and other places).
