My mother works at the EPA in the water division, so she is very passionate about keeping our house’s carbon footprint down. Our house doesn’t have AC and we very sparingly use our heat during the winter month. My mom has instilled a strong sense for energy efficiency onto me. In my house, our electricity will mainly be solar and gas. The would be located close to my school or university that I am attending, close enough for me to bike or take public transport. The food will come from farmer’s markets as well as our vegetable garden in the backyard. Other necessities will come from a conventional grocery store. The food will mostly be vegetarian or vegan, with a couple meals containing chicken or sustainable fish, there would be no beef or red meat. I want my house to be as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. This will be my family footprint.
