Many students using our footprint calculator said that they could not pledge to reduce their home footprints because they were not making the decisions for the household. Here is your chance to design your own sustainable virtual household!
If you had your own home, what would you do to make it more energy efficient? Where would you get your electricity from? Where would your house be? Would you live near to your school or work or local transit options? Where would you get your food from?

My Family Footprint
After I did my carbon footprint, I saw how much energy was being used in my house and I was disappointed that I didn't even know how much my family was wasting. If I were able to make all the decisions in my household, I would make sure to only use LED light bulbs and try to use sunlight more than turning lights on during the day. I would also invest in solar panels because they are a renewable resource. Another big problem with my carbon footprint had to do with transportation. Using bikes and carpooling would definitely help to improve those numbers.
