Many students using our footprint calculator said that they could not pledge to reduce their home footprints because they were not making the decisions for the household. Here is your chance to design your own sustainable virtual household!
If you had your own home, what would you do to make it more energy efficient? Where would you get your electricity from? Where would your house be? Would you live near to your school or work or local transit options? Where would you get your food from?

My Family Footprint and What I Can Do to Improve It
My total carbon footprint was 5,617, although it is fairly low I still think that there are some things that my family and I can improve. My highest of the four categories was home with 2,918 my highest of the sub categories was home energy and appliances. I was on of the i highest factors in my total home because in my house we use gas to power almost all of our appliances and while heating our home . I think that in order for my family to improve our carbon footprint we could try and use our air conditioning and heating system less in the summer and winter. For the home category my showering time also really affected my results. So another thing that i can do to try and improve my carbon footprint is reduce the amount of time i spend in the shower and try ad waste less water.
