Many students using our footprint calculator said that they could not pledge to reduce their home footprints because they were not making the decisions for the household. Here is your chance to design your own sustainable virtual household!
If you had your own home, what would you do to make it more energy efficient? Where would you get your electricity from? Where would your house be? Would you live near to your school or work or local transit options? Where would you get your food from?

My Family Footprint Dream House:)
I would live in a manner that is two stories. It would be completely reused wood (Drift wood, fallen trees, etc) and for design for the roof I would use compressed piezoelectric materials because these materials convert motion into electrical currents. This would let me have 50% of the energy needed for my house. My house would have a natural swimming pool right outside my house. I would have the welcome mate be a power tile, which also generates energy when it is steeped on. Also my flooring and driveway would have power tiles. My cooling system would be a carbon engineered cooling system that is a giant fan that has a liquid inside it that absorbs carbon dioxide. Even though the fans are huge, they would create a well sustained cooling system. The fans would run of the power that I make using the power tiles. These fans would be in the basement, and the air made by them would go up certain vents. During the cold season I would have a vent the is on my roof the lets out the clean air into the environment. I would also have a farm inside a greenhouse and a barn with catt le inside of it. The cow section of the farm would have the carbon fans near them to absorb the carbon farts and burps. I would use gray water for the plumbing. Underneath my house way under the basement I would have a sewer processing plant and the water would go back. I would have a hybrid car that has its own solar panels.
