Many students using our footprint calculator said that they could not pledge to reduce their home footprints because they were not making the decisions for the household. Here is your chance to design your own sustainable virtual household!
If you had your own home, what would you do to make it more energy efficient? Where would you get your electricity from? Where would your house be? Would you live near to your school or work or local transit options? Where would you get your food from?

Cleanest house ever
My house (called the Homeco) is a one story eco friendly house designed for helping the earth. The house will be double walled, creating a simple cooling mechanism. The entire roof would be covered by solar panels and a small water powered crank would be working under the house to provide small extra amounts of electricity. On top of the house, a small windmill will also be in action, turning and creating electricity for the house. The good place for this house to be is near a cliff overlooking the sea. This will make water for powering the water mechanism easily assessable and the sea breeze will turn the windmill. Every appliance in the house would be electric, from the water heater to the stove. And the house will be heated by a fireplace and have a car charging station outside for an electric car of course.
