MY Family Footprint

Many students using our footprint calculator said that they could not pledge to reduce their home footprints because they were not making the decisions for the household. Here is your chance to design your own sustainable virtual household!

If you had your own home, what would you do to make it more energy efficient? Where would you get your electricity from? Where would your house be? Would you live near to your school or work or local transit options? Where would you get your food from?

My family's carbon footprint

bod7jasiyab

My carbon footprint in the transportation and home portions were very high. my carbon footprint in transportation was 4,411,970 kgs    and my home carbon footprint was 6,143 kgs. My transportation footprint is extremely high because I am constantly driving around the city. Last year I took over 6 airplane rides. I flew all the way to Cuba, Miami, LA numerous times and Dallas. Those flights contributed to my transportation footprint. In my house, we use a lot of electricity our lights are constantly one and I take showers twice a day one in the morning and one in the night. One way I think I can reduce my carbon footprint is by rethinking how I will go to and from practice and school. I live 5 min. away from my school so maybe I can walk to school in the morning.
