Many students using our footprint calculator said that they could not pledge to reduce their home footprints because they were not making the decisions for the household. Here is your chance to design your own sustainable virtual household!
If you had your own home, what would you do to make it more energy efficient? Where would you get your electricity from? Where would your house be? Would you live near to your school or work or local transit options? Where would you get your food from?

When I get my house when I'm older, it would be important for me to create a sustainable living space where I reduce the amount of electricity and rely more on solar panels. I want my home to feel more eco-friendly, so I will make sure to have substantial things such as lots of plants and gardens. Most of my food will try and be homegrown and I will be aware of the heat and air conditioning. As for cars and transportation, finding a place close to where I work would be very beneficial. This will help with the carbon being released from my car. Hopefully, by then eco-friendly cars won't be as hard to find. This is very easy to think about, but in reality, achieving this high of an eco-friendly environment is hard to obtain. This will definitely take a lot of work and commitment. I am ready to start changing our planet for the better and if this takes hard work, I'm ready to start.
