Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

I eat mostly just bread and peanut butter and jelly, with milk. I need to change my meal to more vegetables and water. I drink about 2 liters of Mt Dew per day. I should reduce the daily intake to 8 oz of Mt Dew per day. Maybe one day if I only drink water that could help better are planet by causing less plastic bottles in the landfill. I eat fast food a lot of the time too and I need to do it less. The Mc Donals and Taco Johns tissues and bags. Just go into the garbage and are not recycled and end up in the landfill. It takes 1000 years for the particals to break down in plastics so it's just contaminating the soil. I'm sick of my effort and its besmirching my reputation. By contributing to pollution. The United States spends on average 4.8 billon dollars a year to treat drinking water. I think that this shouldn't be a problem. If everyone came together and didn't pollute the soil. The nitrogen levels would be normal and we could save a lot of money as a nation. Infections spread through contaminated water as well. All the plastics and other things we though out help cause this epidemic forming in are societies, due to the levels in are soil. The world is ares and we need to come together as a nation and show people its are world. We need to take care of it.
