The article states, "Livestock farming produces from 20% to 50% of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions." These are very high statistics. Because of this, we want to try and eat more fruits and veggies, and less meat due to meats high carbon levels. The article above also says, "The carbon footprint of a vegetarian diet is about half that of a meat-lover’s diet." The difference in carbon levels between meat and fruits and veggies is so extreme. So next time you want a giant steak, maybe try a salad instead. It will be just as healthy, and you will be helping carbon dioxide levels.
It is important to see scientists and activists encouraging others to eat in a way that positively impacts the environment! Furthermore, it will be very interesting to see how many individuals are actually willing to alter their eating habits for the sake of the planet.
