Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Growing Food

Crops and food resources can be destroyed by climate change, making it hard for those who rely on growing food.

So I’m going to try to grow my own food and eat one completely self sufficient meal per week.

ellasabine

thats really cool corey

KàriO

thats really true. plus its making it harder for certain areas who rely on catching fish.

Imogen

That is true and people who are framers and rely on crops are struggling with drought and floods so they can’t provide for their family’s and others

laurenoboy

And if the farmers or people rely heavily on the crops that they grow, it would be very difficult to find another resource to replace their crops

juliannnnnn

its also good to buy fair trade items

RJRJ

If everyone in the world starts planting our own food it can help the environment because of how we all live on buying food from the supermarket which still a good thing to do but if we can all try to make a farm like getting cows and use them for meat or use them for milk.
