What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

beef industry
the beef and cow food industry is one of the biggest climate problem causers. many think it's plastic or cars, but it's actually where we get our meat. cows produce insane amounts of methane every year. one cow produces 70-120 kg of methane in a year, which makes the cattle industry the causer of over 40% of methane production by humans. we can help this by eating less to no meat. for example, have days like meatless Mondays to start. not everyone is going to completely cut out meat from their lives, but we can definitely cut it down.
