What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Hunger around the World
According to foodaidfoundation.org, "The vast majority of the world's hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished." Asia contains most of the world's developing countries and two-thirds of worldwide hunger is in Asia, so as a result Asia has more hungry people than any other continent. Worldwide, one in nine people on earth does not have enough food to live a happy, active life. I think this is very sad, and the rest of the population should try to take more action to combat this problem. Ways we can do this is by making either food or money donations to online websites connected to non-profit organizations. Another thing we can do is volunteer at events, food collections, stores, and deliveries. Also, based on your skill level, education, and specialization you can do more professional help. You could also do Food Drive Campaigns, host a Food Box, and participate in other events to raise awareness. And to take things a step further, if you are very passionate about this you could become a mission partner with a nonprofit organization such as Food Aid Foundation.

Producing and cosuming less animal products could drastically affect world hunger. It would make a huge difference if we all limited our consumption of meat and other animal products. That way we would be able to use more land, water and resources to produce food for people. We could feed such a big part of the people who are living in poverty and lack of nutrition around the world.
