What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Food and Hunger
When taking the online carbon footprint form with my classmates I noticed a substantial difference when we got to the food section. I eat more of a vegetarian diet and skip a lot of meals cuz my hunger fluctuates up and down. I noticed that one of my friends eats a lot more beef than me which caused them to have a much higher carbon footprint in the food section. I think this is because cows produce a lot more carbon than most animals so to lower it, they would have to eat less meat products such as beef and start eating to plants and grains which can provide as much nutrients.
