It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Plastic Vs Metal
I feel that one of my major recycling problem is that I use too many plastic water bottles. I would say that I buy a plastic water bottle 2 to 3 times a week. According to Pat Franklin of the Container Recycling Unit, "Each day in the US more than 60 million plastic water bottles are thrown away." This is an incredibly high number. I think one thing we can do is make sure to have a reusable water bottle. My school, Bishop O'Dowd, has many water fountains across the school. I will definitely make sure to bring my own when we got back to school.
Currently, I have my own metal water bottle that I bring to school almost every day. I remember to bring my water bottle to school because I play sports which requires a water bottle or I have nothing to drink which is a huge motivator. I definitely think that bringing your own water bottle is a great way to reduce the 60 million wasted bottles a year. According to Daily Infographic, only 1 in 5 plastic water bottles are recycled properly and 17 million barrels of oil are used to create 50 billion plastic water bottles in the USA alone. In addition, if we start to bring our own metal water bottles everywhere we go the average American would save up 200 dollars which could be used in another way.

I go to Bishop O'Dowd, too. I completely agree with you. A major thing I always seem to do at school is constantly buy plastic and metal bottles and cans. I drink them and then throw them away never reusing anything. According to Clearance Solutions when stating about what reusing does, it claims, "It also significantly reduces waste and pollution because it reduces the need for raw materials, saving both forests and water supplies." I believe that if people want to save the world every small step counts. Therefore, I agree with you. If we can all use water bottles to fill up water reusing them over time, it will reduce our waste in the world and save life. I got this information from https://www.clearancesolutionsltd.co.uk … g-reusing/
I completely agree in that plastic water bottles one of the largest contributors in pollution. Metal water bottles are much more resource efficient and they aren't single use. Bringing a metal water bottle to school every day will help limit waste and pollution. According to healthyhumanlife.com, every year, Americans buy 29 billion plastic water bottles, and only one in six get recycled. It takes about a thousand years for plastic water bottle to decompose, and we as humanity do not have that much time. We need to figure a way to create renewable water bottles, as were going to start running out of space, ocean, plastic, among other things.
