Reuse & Repurpose

It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

Share your ideas for extending the “lives” of the items that we buy and use, and their packaging as well!

Reducing and Reusing Human Waste

A lot of the products we buy are unnecessary and we end up not even using them, so they simply creat waste from the packaging they create. The best way we can prevent this is to not buy it in the first place. According to epa.gov, ways you can reduce and reuse include: buying second hand, buying in bulk, buying less packaging, buying multi-use rather than disposable, borrowing or renting more, buying more maintainable options with higher quality, and repairing broken items rather than throwing them away. You made have heard the common phrase, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." This is basically saying that you should not throw away what you think is trash because other people could use it. These kinds of exchanges are whats important for maintaining a good environment. You can do that by donating to nonprofit organizations, going to swap meets, and selling unwanted goods. Not only is this good for the environment as it saves natural resources but it can benefit you too.

Wasting Food can be very detrimental to our environment. The later you waste, the more it affects the environment because if you spend all the energy buying the food, processing, and cooking it is more carbon expended just to waste the product. One way we can tackle food waste is by feeding the unwanted food to animals and if it cant be
reused in any way then we can recycle it in a responsible manner instead of just letting it rot in the landfill.
