I have played baseball for many years now. I also have lots of toys from growing up as a kid. In my experience, most of the time I grow out of something like a helmet or toys I don't use anymore, I would always just through the things away. I didn't do this all the time, but still did it. I never really thought about the consequences from doing things like this. According to H.West Equipment claiming about why it is bad to throw things away rather than reducing them, it states, "Your debris and trash go to landfills ... As a result, landfills begin to smell terrible and become toxic from different kinds of harmful chemicals coming from cleaning supplies, microwaves, batteries, styrofoam, as well as other household products." Therefore, now I know everytime I do these type of things, I harm the environment and pollute it, as well. In order for me to fix this, for now on things that I don't want anymore are going to be given to others rather than throwing them away. I will try to find other places that want the toys and equipment so they can be reduced and reused and not polluted. Does anyone else have any other ideas how to reuse equipment and old items.
