In my household since a very young age my parents would always make sure to save paper and plastic grocery bags for later use. Despite these being sold as disposable and single use, my family collects them and reuses them for our own purposes such as collecting fruit from the trees outside our house, bringing them back to the grocery store to use them as reusable plastic bags and putting them down over surfaces for art projects and painting. Another way my family and I have always tried to reuse disposable plastic products is to wash and repeatedly use plastic utensils in case we run out of silverware or if we are going camping. Although they are more flimsy than traditional silverware, they are fine for repeated use as long as they are washed thoroughly, just like any other utensil.
