What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Food
Food is one of the leading causes of CO2 emission. Simply the process of transporting this food releases tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. Cows alone produce CO2 from both methane and breathing which is why they are the biggest animal producer of CO2. This is a conflicting topic because I am no exception to consuming meat. Burgers, steak, and cheese all taste good but they're all products of farming cows. I believe that it is hard for people to change their ways to save our planet because of the simple reason of pleasure. Things with dairy in them are delicious, steak is expensive everywhere and is delicious. Finally, there are thousands of fast food restaurants that mass produce food that requires cows, chicken, and other various CO2 emitting organisms. A big and risky step that the fast food industry could take to fight global warming would be to use less beef and dairy in their products. This change would be good for the environment but it would also change the taste of their food which would affect their sales. Companies are usually focused on only money so there is a low chance that these industries will change.
I feel like it is very hard to stay around the average food amount. Especially if I'm trying to gain weight I have to eat a lot of food which can affect the environment.
Like I have to eat around 3600 calories which is more than the average and a lot of that is meat like cows, chicken, and pig. which could be bad because we have to kill them for food but a lot of people need that for their food source. So I think that we have to try to at least match the amount of animals we eat to how many animals.
