Beef
Beef production is one of the largest food contributors to global warming. According to https://www.scientificamerican.com/slid … hamburger/, around 1,800 million tons of beef is yearly consumed around the world. The amount of beef produced has increased by 1% every year since 2009. This is due to a rise in population, but also an increased demand for beef. This large amount of beef consumption has lead to immense carbon emissions. According to https://www.scientificamerican.com/slid … hamburger/, 26,000 million tons of greenhouse gases are made yearly by beef production. Many factors contribute to these mass emissions. The three most prevalent factors are energy production, livestock production, and the transportation of the beef. Overall, beef manufacturing is a huge contributor to CO2 emissions, and ultimately, global warming.
