Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Policies on Environmental Change

SSarenaBOD8

Policies can have a huge effect on fighting the environmental crisis.  These policies can become more beneficial than being told to recycle, carpool, or take public transit.  Policies that increase the price of gas can cause people to walk/ride bikes more, grow their own food, and have a smaller carbon footprint.  For example, the Clean Air Act authorizes air quality standards, which is also regulated.  Some policies can also ban products that are harmful to nature and the Earth.  These products could include plastic, styrofoam, and metaled polymer film.  People often use single-use items out of convenience, but if there was a policy that decreased the amount of single-use items, then people may become more prone to using reusable options, such as water bottles, utensils, napkins, or take-out containers.
