All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.
Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?
Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!
Now It's Time for Action >
Making a Difference!
I truly want to make a positive impact on our planet, but unfortunately I haven’t been making the effort to do so. I know that if I don’t take action to help the planet now, then it might be too late. In order to save Earth from the global warming crisis, we as humans need to take initiative so the next generations of people can live their life to the fullest, without having to frantically worrying about rising water levels and abnormal weather conditions. If we all pitch in and do the slightest thing, like doing garbage cleanups around your community or buying food locally, then it will make a positive difference for Earth.
Your damn true bro. We need to take action now or never. Its been a while People are not taking care of such type of crises and we also do not. But, we have to deal carefully with such matters because it is essential to have a better future on this Earth.
But, we are doing right now is searching for a life on Mars
. Why we do not take care of the planet which has all the facilities and why not we do efforts to make it clean.
This is a War between Good & Evil, it can never be ended, I think so. But, we should play our part to make this end.
I really think that we can make a difference and in particular as young people. But today the ecologic question is not widespread enough or it is not taked seriously. We should organized all of the societies to answer to the urgent situation of global warming. Of course individually, we can reduce our consumption of meat, energy and water. It's not because I think that to change things it is necessary to act globally that I think individuals acts are useless, it's all the opposite. I strongly believe that change can be done in two steps : first we have to sensitize the population from youth to the oldest, and secondly all the gouvernments must take important decisions together about the survival of our planet.
I definitely agree with you! I guess some people think that they don't really have that much of an impact on the planet so they don't make much of an effort to become more eco-friendly. But I think it's just really important to make everyone realize that they do have an impact on the planet and if all people just started trying to live a more environmentally-healthy lifestyle little by little, we would definitely be able to start making progress and help the Earth become healthier.
This concept truly isn't too hard, we just need more people to understand what is really happening in our world! Just like miti11 said, this learning should start with children, who are the future of our earth, but should also be reaching even our oldest global citizens. Everyone can make a change if they just understood what harm their current choices cause to our planet. So maybe we should try implementing current problems with our planet into our teaching curriculums? This could help alert students about these issues, but what are other ways we could help everyone understand regardless of age? And how can we ensure that these problems are talked about, even after the learning takes place, to the point where everyone is aware and doesn't forget?
