Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

We have to change

Poetia

We are the future and we have to change if we want to improve things for ourselves and the future generations...

First we should stop wasting food, because of this many animals die for nothing, and a lot of people die of hunger.

Secondly we can try to eat less meat and eat more vegetables.

And we should stop intensive livestock and agriculture.
We have to change our bad habits if we want to save our world.

I completely agree that we are the future and that we need to do everything we can to create change, and we need to make a change for upcoming generations.

I agree with the both of you. We are the ones building our future. If we want to live a long healthy life we need to make some changes. We should start by only buying what we need and donating to those in need. Living in this way would create a better future for both the animals and us.

I agree, we should be more mindful of how we are harming our environment, and I think our impacts on the world should be taught to people at a younger age. I believe we should have certain habits instilled in us from childhood, so that future families are developed already knowing of how to limit our carbon footprint and how to reduce our waste and set up better futures for the population and the community as a whole.
